  • Standard, Prequalified Joints.
  • Non-Prequalified Joints.
  • High-strength alloys, Stainless Steel, Aluminum, sheet steel.

CSWI is proud to be one of the first inspection agencies in Central Texas to offer ICC certified Structural Steel & Bolting Special Inspectors.

Enforcement of the International Building Code requirements for Quality Control and Quality Assurance is becoming more stringent every day. CSWI's Special Inspectors have the experience and knowledge necessary to provide the required inspections to comply with the IBC.

A critical, yet often overlooked part of nearly all structural steel projects is High Strength Bolting. The Research Council on Structural Connections (RCSC) provides very clear and detailed direction for the verification of all types of high strength fastener systems beginning with delivery of the first batch of fasteners, testing of each fastener system, verification of proper bolting procedures, and final "acceptance" of a bolted connection.

CSWI has extensive experience with application of the RCSC standards as they relate to your structural steel project. We encourage you to contact us with any questions you may have or to assist in clarification of the High Strength bolting requirements for your particular project.

Welding Inspection.

At CSWI, we pride ourselves in providing competent, comprehensive, and efficient welding inspection/testing.

Your particular project may require in-process fabrication shop surveillance, periodic (call-out) on-site inspections, or even continuous, full-time observation. CSWI will work with the fabricator, contractor, erector and anyone else involved to make sure inspections are completed effectively and efficiently.

A few things to consider when planning/implementing your next project:

  • Pre-construction plan review to identify critical items or inspection "hold points."
  • Verification of proper fit-up of welded connections.
  • In-process inspection to verify proper welding processes/procedures.
  • Final visual inspection (usually specified for 100% of field welded connections).
  • Non-destructive examination (NDE) of completed welds to ensure compliance with the contract documents and applicable code(s).
Anchor Rod Pullout/Proof Load Testing

CSWI is equipped to perform pullout and/or proof load testing of anchor rods for your project.

Pull testing can be performed on anchor rods up to two (2) inches in diameter (#14 rebar max.) and up to 110,000 lbf. (110Kps).

Testing equipment is fully portable and CSWI personnel are available to travel nationwide.  Response times are short, and prices are highly competitive.

Let CSWI assist you in developing a comprehensive pipe testing/inspection program for your facility.

  • Parking Lot Light Pole inspections and evaluations. Let CSWI take a look at your pole structures BEFORE you have a failure or accident.
  • Pipe/tank wall thickness/soundness surveys for additions and repairs.
  • Detailed reports and spreadsheets provided.
  • Tank seam testing using Ultrasonics and Fluorescent Magnetic Particle Testing.
Quality System Consulting

Let CSWI help guide your organization through the complexities of AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction) certification. CSWI has assisted many fabricators and erectors in obtaining the valuable AISC Certified Fabricator and/or Certified Erector classification. After earning certification, CSWI often helps represent the certified organization during the annual certification renewal audit.
